OPTUS BEEF !

I'm not happy Jan!!

No names will be used in any of these comments. Departments are another thing entirely.

- I really hate those f****rs in Resource Planning. I mean they sit on their asses and dictate what we all do, but do you think the can get the roster right? How about we get them to do our rosters for one cycle, and I'll bet suddenly all the night shifts and weekends dissappear.

- Power of Customer Service... POCS - Sums it up really.

- Why does a launch for a product take three hours and cost a 100 grand when we could have got all the information in a three line email. Nice to see our profit sharing used well.

- Who cares about the execs in Sydney leaving, and the new one being appointed. We have no control over it and the new guy means nothing to us at our level and will be gone to another spongy job in six months any way. STOP SENDING US THOSE MAILS!

- Hmmm always nice when they make changes in the EPA. Now our sick leave has gone from unlimited to 'reasonable'. And just what is reasonable? Lets face it, they've been bullshitting about unlimited up until now (We all know someone who had legitimate leave and was still file noted) so how bad is it going to be now?

- Careers at Optus? I'd like to see that. No wonder everyone is leaving. We might get paid well for our jobs, but you think you're going anywhere?

- Why doesn’t Optus provide Child Care facilities? In this day and age of two parents working, I’m sure Optus would benefit greatly from providing such a service.

- Other than having a free mobile phone rental fee, what else does Optus offer for staff? Nothing. I think it’s time they started looking at some of the benefits of other companies and gave them to us too.

- Why are we given unlimited sick leave and then file noted if we use some of it, even legitimately?

-I was wondering if any one is able to advise what happened to the Optus values. Are they still relevant in today’s CWO? Definitely there is less emphasis on empowerment and leadership. It's high time the real issues attributing to all time lows in staff morale and huge staff turnover are dealt with rather than the nonsensical corporate propaganda that is both offensive and worthless

-I was happy working here – now after having a child, I’m going to have to leave because shift work combined with a child is just too much. Why don’t Optus have Child Care facilities.

-Why do Optus take so long fixing faults that cost us money? PPS customers are set wrongly on their service, and now it’s taking days to get them fixed. We can’t charge them for calls during this time and by the time faults get them fixed, we have lost more money. As an Optus Shareholder, I think this is wasteful.

-Why do resource planning make us work lates one week, then really early the next. Shifts are bad enough without having to deal with times like these.

-When are Optus going to supply some sort of definitive career path. If Optus want to keep people, they are going to have to learn that they want somewhere to go rather than siting at a desk all day doing the same thing day in day out.
